The Most Important Election of Our Lifetimes. (Again.)
Here at DemCast, we reviewed the data and identified the races and candidates that are critical for the preservation of democracy and our freedoms in 2022. We’ve sorted these races into three categories:
Our democracy is in danger. GOP state legislatures are passing laws across the country aimed at overturning the will of the voters.
Governors, Secretaries of State and Attorneys General may be the last line of defense in these states to prevent a 2024 authoritarian coup.

Keep the House
Republicans have been floating the idea that they would select Donald Trump as Speaker if they manage to win in November.
This is actually possible. But even if it’s McCarthy or Stefanik, we know what’s coming: a conspiratorial Biden impeachment, Benghazi-style propaganda-infused investigations, and – most dangerously – a likely refusal to certify the 2024 election results if a Democrat wins.

The leaked decision from SCOTUS overturning Roe vs. Wade underscores the desperate importance of maintaining control of the US Senate.
There are SIX toss-up races that will determine the fate of the chamber: three incumbent democrats have a tough battle ahead; two retiring Republicans have left important vacancies, and Ron Johnson is on the ropes in Wisconsin.
