An impeachment of President Biden is nothing more than a partisan political stunt designed to hurt the President and help Donald Trump return to the White House in 2024. Republicans have admitted this multiple times. Their efforts to hide behind an impeachment inquiry will not protect their vulnerable members from the voters. In failed hearing after failed hearing, MAGA Republicans have found NO EVIDENCE of wrongdoing by President Biden or his administration, but that has not stopped them from pushing baseless conspiracy theories and lies. Republicans continue to be focused on the wrong priorities, not the kitchen table issues that Americans around the country care about.
The Toplines
- Republicans in Congress have failed to find a single shred of evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden. Their so-called bombshell evidence does not exist. They don’t care about the truth. Their entire playbook is to spread baseless conspiracy theories before being forced to admit that they have no proof of anything. Even Fox News has repeatedly said there is no evidence, and other Republican lawmakers do not support an impeachment – including Republican senators. Even the star witness at their first (and last!) hearing admitted there is no evidence of wrongdoing. Comer has reviewed 37,000 pages of subpoenaed bank records, over 2,000 pages of suspicious activity reports, and spent dozens of hours interviewing witnesses – and has found no evidence of wrongdoing whatsoever.
- Republicans are lying about needing an impeachment for more oversight power. The truth is, the Biden administration has given Congressional investigators everything they’ve asked for, and still Comer and Jordan have absolutely nothing. As Comer himself said, “every subpoena that I have signed, as Chairman of the House Oversight Committee over the last five months, we have gotten 100% of what we requested, whether it’s with the FBI or with the banks or with Treasury.” Not getting what they’ve hoped to find is neither an example of obstruction nor an excuse to open an impeachment inquiry.
- This bogus impeachment effort is a desperate attempt by MAGA Republicans to distract from Donald Trump’s serious legal troubles. As the handpicked Speaker of Donald Trump, Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson continues to commit to following through on the bogus Biden impeachment. But as Trump has been indicted for 91 criminal counts and trials are beginning, Republicans are desperate to change the news cycle and protect Trump, their MAGA agenda, and their power. Republicans have even interfered with investigations into Trump, threatening investigators with congressional investigations of their own. These are blatant attempts to protect their disgraced former president and help him return to the White House in 2024.
- MAGA Republicans have the wrong priorities. They are focusing on partisan political stunts rather than the real issues Americans care about like the economy and the cost of living. Between a bogus impeachment stunt, shutting down the government, defunding the FBI to protect Donald Trump, and trying to undo Donald Trump’s impeachments, the MAGA House and their so-called moderate members are showing the American people that their real priorities are MAGA priorities. As Rep. Chip Roy recently said on the House floor, House Republicans have done absolutely nothing to make the lives of the American people better.
- Recent polling of battleground districts shows that voters don’t support Republican efforts to impeach President Biden without evidence. 56% of voters (including 55% of independents) across eighteen swing districts think MAGA Republicans’ impeachment promises are more of a partisan political stunt than a serious effort to investigate important problems.
- A majority of voters in key battleground districts (55%) think an impeachment inquiry would be more about helping Donald Trump than finding the truth, including 56% of independent voters.
Similarly, the majority of voters (56%) from key swing districts think the House of Representatives should have to vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden before it begins. - MAGA Republicans are a threat to democracy. All they care about is power. House Republicans have given support to extremists, conspiracy theorists, election deniers, and racists. They have shown a blatant disregard for the rule of law and support for political violence. MAGA House Republicans continue to defend the attack on our Capitol and on our country on January 6th. They call criminals who attacked law enforcement patriots and promise them pardons.

MAGA Republican lawmakers across the country are pushing abortion bans at the state and national level that jeopardize women and other people who are or might become pregnant, undermining their ability to make deeply personal decisions about their own health and families.
- ICYMI: Texas Supreme Court blocks woman’s ability to receive medically-necessary abortion.
- Kate Cox, who is more than 20 weeks pregnant, asked the courts to approve a medical exception to the state’s abortion ban after her fetus was diagnosed with trisomy 18.
- Doctors confirmed that the diagnosis meant the pregnancy risked her life or health and her future ability to have children + the Texas Supreme Court still blocked the lower court order allowing the abortion.
Other TX lawsuits are ongoing:
- One argues the abortion ban poses significant risks to the women’s health, endangering their lives, health and fertility.
- Another argues the language regarding medical exceptions in the law is unclear and causes doctors to refrain from performing abortions in serious cases.
And what happens when MAGA Republicans try to ban abortions?
- They LOSE elections.
- In 2022, and recently in Ohio—abortion and reproductive freedom were critical motivating factors that helped deliver key victories, including in red states.
- They undermine people’s basic freedom to control their lives.
- Any attack on reproductive freedom is an attack on our freedoms, there’s no compromise. A ban is a ban, plain and simple.
- They block critical and even life-saving health care.
- Vague exceptions like “to save the life of a pregnant woman” are unworkable in practice, and require doctors to push patients to death’s door before providing time-sensitive care.
- They hurt families’ financial stability and undermine our economy.
